It's under Profile and Edit account settings (ucp.php?i=ucp_profile&mode=reg_details).
Found it now - but it's not exactly intuitive: go to Menu, then FISO Forums, then User CP... I've no idea whether "User CP" is a standard IT/programming phrase, but it's pretty meaningless to me and I suspect plenty of other users. What about an "account admin" tab or something more easily recognisable? Or is it me being a tech dinosaur?

It's not massively user friendly, no, but I'd recommend that everyone has a play around in their profile as there's a lot of stuff in there worth adjusting.

I'll add it but I suspect that it's standard form for this forum software.

This hasn't made the list but still occurs for me.
Could you clarify what this refers to, I'm trying to reproduce the issue but can't.
On the fpl subforum when I press the "Mark topics read" button (to the right of the advanced search button) then nothing happens and all I get is the above error message.

weirdly, the "Mark subforums read" button at the top of the same page works fine.

I think this is a nice touch...
fiso.jpg

e.g. preview of first and last post just hovering over the topic title

Gotcha. I've not seen that option before.

Hmm... I just get a tooltip with a very brief summary of the first post. That's on Chrome on Windows 8. Would be a solution to the issue with hovering over the "go to last post" issue if it worked.

You can adjust it in your profile (there's a historic thread somewhere)

I think that's a user preference thing, go to your profile and there will probably be a suggestion button to add the hour (if not you can change it yourself).

Please prioritise this...if I can't have a "clean" new topics page it will severely impact my appetite for coming back....I'm back to page after page of FPL/Dream Team stuff I couldn't care less about.

CP = Control Panel

I've got 3 ACP, MCP & UCP :P

Dealt with the white space each side by Ctrl + a couple of times to fill the screen.

A few observations on the mobile UI:

Can you add the last visited and current date and time back to the top of the New Posts screen please.

the top logo banner + advert + menu bar take up a lot of the small screen

breadcrumbs are heavily truncated therefore not very readable/useable

perhaps a quick guide to the new interface would win folks over (what do all the icons mean / where has such-and-such gone) plus highlight the new/improved features?

I like the crispness and colour scheme but it would be interesting to know how Assisted Technology users like the site

could you prioritize adding the last post not the OP datestamp on new posts

keep up the good work!

er..., yes, but I found it handier, and I found out now that I have to press "back" 2 or 3 times, when I had multiple Previews before canceling

it was just a kind request, you see I insulted no one this time, so it's not anything serious

mike_d99 wrote:I hate to sound negative as clealrly a lot of work has gone into this, but why is everything so squashed up? I'm on a widescreen monitor and half the screen is just white space due to the massive borders on either side.

It looks neater, but at the same time it's far harder to read. Everything is bright white and it's not easy on the eye at all. Same problem as new BBC website has - if you're reading it with tired eyes then it's a bit much.
That's miles better - uses the full screen and as a result I'm not getting the same level of snow-blindness :D

Avatars look miles better on the left too. Good stuff, cheers :)

My thoughts:

When we first moved over from pipsuite to the last incarnation of FISO I hated it so much that I changed my username to 'don't like it' and moaned and moaned and moaned.

Now when I look at the archived pipsuite stuff I realise I was being a tit.

Do I like the new format now? No.

But I'll get used to it and will learn to love it and I've stopped being a tit.

A bit of background on the changes:

The changes come from the forum software moving on to a newer version, phpbb 3.1.x from 3.0.x
They list a number of new features here: https://www.phpbb.com/about/launch/

The older version will eventually become unsupported and represent a security risk.

We'll do what we can to restore functionality but this will not be possible in every case.
